I thought it might be helpful to define some of the less common words that may appear in my blog posts on occasion. I'll try to update this page as necessary. Lagniappe (noun)- A Cajun French word I've grown up understanding as meaning "a little something extra." According to dictionary.com, lagniappe is "an unexpected or indirect benefit." For the purposes of this blog, I'm defining it according to 1 Corinthians 2:9: "no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him."
10/40 Window (noun)- The 10/40 Window is the area of the world between latitudes 10 degrees and 40 degrees north of the equator in the Eastern Hemisphere, covering North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. The window contains most of the world's areas of greatest physical and spiritual needs, most of the world's least-reached peoples and most of the governments that oppose Christianity. Evangelical (adjective or noun) - characterized by adherence to the belief that Jesus is the sole source of salvation through faith as well as commitment to biblical teaching and evangelism.
